Research on the public attitudes towards the educational reform in Bulgaria
Open Society Foundation
Momchilgrad, Rakitovo, Breznitza village, Vratza, Sevlievo, National School for Ancient Languages and Culture and the American College - Sofia, private school “MEL” - Plovdiv
The regions under research were selected so as to represent different education models: public and private schools, general education, vocational training, specialized, elitist, etc.etc. The goal was to acquire in–depth understanding regarding the ways in which the different stakeholders (students, teachers, parents, municipal officials) perceived the existing education system and its drawbacks. The study served as an instrument to gauge the public support for the reform and identify the desired course of the educational reform as seen by the stakeholders.
